We are a small breeding kennel located in Corning, N.Y. We are totally dedicated to produce fine quality, healthy companions that can be shown as well as becoming your new family members. We have owned saints since 1994, but didnt start breeding them until 2000. I was introduced to Catahaoulas in 2001 and after a bit of research, in 2003 we purchased our 1st Catahoula Leopard Dog and have owned them since. I have always had a love for the Swiss breeds, and have wanted to add the Greater Swiss, & finally late spring 2008 we got our 1st Greater Swiss Mountain dog. We have both coat types of Saints, roughcoats(longhair) and smoothcoats(shorthair). Here at MooreCrest we specialize in producing structurally sound healthy beautiful dogs with excellent temperaments. Our dogs are of high quality out of very good champion bloodlines. Our main priority is focused on stable temperaments, we breed only dogs of excellent temperament, sound health, correct conformation, and are to breed standards as well. They are genetically sound and very healthy. Our dogs are known for their wonderful laid back personalities. All of our dogs are our family members, they are raised both inside and outside, they get lots of love and attention. We make sure everyone gets quality time inside the house. Our dogs are in large fenced areas with plenty of space to exercise, they also get to run and play in our fenced yard or the horse pasture. Our dogs and puppies are around our horses almost every day. We also make it top priority to spend as much time with the new puppies as possible, they are family raised and completely social. Our puppies are played with on a daily basis. We do everything possible to sell you a completely highly social puppy perfectly healthy raised in a disease free environment. All of our adults are registered with AKC/UKC/ or NALC. Each puppy is sold with an individual Litter Reg. Although the majority of our Puppies are sold on a Limited Registration as pet/family companions only. Our puppies are sold with either a Limited or Full Registration,which means if you want a puppy for a pet/companion only, you will receive LIMITED PET ONLY REGISTRATION, which means the dog can never be used for breeding, or entered in conformation events, in which you will not receive until after the puppy has been spayed/neutered. If you are interested in a breeding or show prospect, you will receive a puppy with FULL REGISTRATION with breeding privileges, and will go home with these papers. We do not guarantee you that any of our puppies will mature as show quality or have the ability to earn AKC points, nor are there any guarantees to produce offspring. It is impossible to predict future development of puppies when mature.
OUR GENETIC GUARANTEE;
All of our Saint Bernard & Greater Swiss puppies are sold with a 1 yr genetic health guarantee against severe genetic crippling hip dysplasia, (PRA) Progressive Retinal Atrophy, & Epilepsy. All of our Catahoula puppies are also sold with a 1 year genetic health guarantee, to be free of Hip dysplasia, Deafness and blindness. We feed a couple different brands of dog foods; Purina Dog chow, Purina high Pro, & Purina One. We also like to feed Eukanuba large breed puppy. We like to feed a puppy formula til @ least 20 weeks of age, then switch to or mix an adult Formula with less protein to help keep their growth at a slow rate. Because our Saint Bernard and Greater Swiss puppies are GIANT Breeds, they have a fast growth rate and don't need all that extra protein. You want your puppy to be nice and lean with a waist line, not too plump over weight or thin, this results in abnormal growth and your puppies joints absolutely cannot keep up with the bone growth and will have joint problems. We do know that most people will not feed what we recommend, so because of the size to which our dogs grow and the variety and quality of dog foods available (& all canine illness are NOT covered by vaccination), we absolutely will not guarantee any puppy unless it is kept on NuVet Plus Canine. All of our females are supplemented with NuVet Plus Canine daily supplement during their entire pregnancy and until the puppies are wheaned. We do require that ALL puppies purchased here at MooreCrest be maintained on "NuVet PlusCanine" daily, (1 Wafer a day) for their 1st Year in order to validate any guarantees. This human grade all natural nutritional vitamin supplement is only available through breeder recommendation. You will be instructed concerning this when you take possession of your puppy. We also feed "SOURCE". This we feed to all of our dogs on a daily basis for their entie life. We started using it when i had to find a really good all around supplement for my Thorough Bred Mare, who has flat feet with very poor hoof growth, so i was told to try SOURCE and have been using it on her and it is a wonderful supplement. I liked the results so well i tried it on my dogs and they have beautiful shiny coats and nice healthy skin as a result. It has also been proved in more successful breedings etc.
